General Arabic

From your first words to fluent, confident conversation. A speaking-first course blending Modern Standard Arabic with everyday dialect — in small groups of 8, on campus in Santa Monica or live online.

Overview

Speak from lesson one

Our General Arabic course is built around one idea: you learn a language by using it. From the very first lesson you speak, react and think in Arabic — the alphabet, grammar and vocabulary are the tools, not the goal. Every group is capped at 8 students, so you are never a spectator.

A free placement test maps you to the right CEFR level, and your teacher gives you written progress feedback every week. We pair Modern Standard Arabic with an everyday spoken dialect so you can both read and chat. Most students move up a level in 10–12 weeks.

FAQ

Good to know

What levels does the General Arabic course cover?
All six CEFR levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). A free placement test puts you in exactly the right group.
Do you teach Modern Standard Arabic or dialect?
Both. Modern Standard Arabic gives you reading, writing and formal speech, while we weave in an everyday spoken dialect so you can actually chat with people from day one.
Will I learn to read the Arabic script?
Yes. We introduce the Arabic alphabet gently in the first weeks, so reading and writing grow naturally alongside your speaking.
