General Hebrew

From your first words to fluent, confident conversation in Modern Hebrew. A speaking-first course in small groups of 8 — on campus in Santa Monica or live online.

Overview

Speak from lesson one

Our General Hebrew course is built around one idea: you learn a language by using it. From the very first lesson you speak, react and think in Hebrew — the alphabet, grammar and vocabulary are the tools, not the goal. Every group is capped at 8 students, so you are never a spectator.

A free placement test maps you to the right CEFR level, and your teacher gives you written progress feedback every week. We teach living, Modern Hebrew, so most students move up a level in 10–12 weeks.

FAQ

Good to know

What levels does the General Hebrew course cover?
All six CEFR levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). A free placement test puts you in exactly the right group.
Will I learn to read the Hebrew alphabet?
Yes. We introduce the Hebrew alphabet from the very first weeks, with and without vowel points, so reading grows naturally alongside your speaking.
Is this Modern or Biblical Hebrew?
Modern Hebrew — the living language spoken in Israel today. It's built for everyday conversation, work and travel, not liturgical reading.
