A1 Beginner
Your very first words in English. At A1 you learn to survive everyday situations with simple phrases — and you start speaking from lesson one, in a group of no more than 8.
What A1 Beginner means
A1 is the official starting point on the CEFR scale — the level for a true beginner. You do not need any prior English to join. In your first lessons you learn to greet people, introduce yourself, count, and ask and answer very simple questions about familiar things.
Everything happens through speaking. Grammar (present simple, basic questions, singular and plural) is introduced only as a tool to help you say what you mean. Your teacher speaks slowly and clearly and gives you written feedback every week so you always know your next step.
By the end of A1 you will be able to:
- Greet people and introduce yourself and others
- Ask and answer simple questions about name, home and family
- Order food and drink and go shopping for basics
- Use numbers, prices, dates and times
- Fill in a simple form with your personal details
- Understand slow, clear speech about familiar topics
- Level: CEFR A1 (Beginner)
- Prior English: none needed
- On campus or online
- Free placement test included
