B2 Upper-Intermediate

Fluent and confident. At B2 you interact with ease, argue a viewpoint and follow films, meetings and debates — the level universities and employers most often ask for.

Overview

What B2 Upper-Intermediate means

B2 is the second "independent user" level and a milestone for many learners. You can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular conversation with native speakers quite possible, without strain for either side. You understand the main ideas of complex text and follow extended discussion.

Lessons sharpen precision and range — advanced tenses, hedging, discourse markers and register — through debates, negotiations and analytical writing. Weekly written feedback shifts from "being understood" to "being convincing".
